Glorious Meetings & Decision-Making - PeoplesHub

Core Training #5 – Connect online as a group

Glorious Meetings & Decision-Making

Meetings and decision-making can make or break your group. You’ll learn how to have productive, creative meetings, distribute power, and hear every voice, including those who are too often not heard. You’ll also learn processes for effective, collective decision-making.

Training Length and Type

Three hours — Connect as a group

Available Dates

Now available! Contact us to set a time that works for your group.

Our trainer will work with you on meeting processes that build relationships, effectiveness, and inclusion.

This training is ideal for:

Groups of 6-25 people who are working together locally — both new and established groups.

You can take this as a stand-alone course, or as part of six core trainings.

Training Outcomes

You’ll come away with:

  • Skills and processes that make for good meetings
  • An assessment of your current governance practices and how you can build a healthier group culture
  • Practices for group decision-making
  • Tools and strategies for anti-oppressive and anti-racist meetings and decision making
  • Ideas to know when to diverge, converge or move forward

Cost

PeoplesHub is committed to making trainings accessible, regardless of ability to pay. We are also dedicated to fair compensation for our trainers, who, like you, have worked hard for change in their communities. We use a sliding scale of $200 – $750 per training to ensure our trainings are accessible to groups with a wide range of resources, and to allow folks to “pay it forward” so that other groups may experience high-quality training at a lower cost.

Payments beyond the true value of the training are considered tax deductible donations.

If cost is a significant barrier for your group, please contact us and we can talk about how to make your training happen.

What do you do to prepare?

Please choose one or two people to work with the trainer on setting a time, establishing an internet link, and managing the space where you’ll meet.

You’ll just need a place to gather; a laptop or desktop computer; and some curiosity. Maybe some hummus and pita.

Note: if you don’t have a computer, talk to us about other devices that may work.
